Reflection of Middle School

June 24, 2009

In my three years of middle school, there have been ups and downs all over the place. It usually seems to follow a pattern too. My grades seemed to start off good, go down a bit, and then come back up by the end of the year. One of the best moments in those three years was the time I got on the stage and did an impression of Harry Caray for the talent show. Even though I borrowed the jokes from SNL, everyone thought it was a good impression. On a scary note, there was the time I burned a hole in a leaf in Mr. Baker’s class, and he got really mad. But I learned not to do that again. Even though it was fun. And field day of 7th grade was a lot of fun. I remember helping to perk up my homeroom for the tug of war by shouting “THIS, IS, SPARTA!”.I’ve learned a lot throughout the years and hope I’ll continue on that path in high school.

What my family does to be green

March 25, 2009

Everybody in my family drives fuel efficient cars. All my life my family has had fuel efficient cars. The least efficient car we’ve ever owned got about 19mpg average, which still isn’t too bad. The only downside is that when we go on long trips in the car, it gets really cramped and uncomfortable. But thats why we fly long distances instead of driving them.

My Wonderful Place

February 5, 2009

My wonderful place would have to be my room for many reasons. It is the place I usually go when I have nothing to do or just want to get away. It combines the classic elements from the 1970′s which i wish i could have been around to see, but it also feels modern at the same time so I don’t feel like I’m stuck in this outdated prison cell. I also have my guitar in there so I can practice, get rid of energy, or be creative. It’s just about everything I’ve ever wanted in a place.

New Aluminum Macbook

January 25, 2009

I got an Aluminum Macbook this past weekend. First off, the specs are as follows:

2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor

2 GB of DDR3 Memory

250 GB Hard Drive

Illuminated Keyboard

I’ve only had it for a day and a half and it’s already better than my HP. It runs extremely fast and quietly and is very easy to use. The new Multi-Touch trackpad is also very nice, though it does take some getting used to for somebody who is used to using a mouse 95% of the time. The 13.3 inch glossy display is beautiful and the colors are very rich, but that comes at the cost of the high glare.

Overall this notebook is very practical, sturdy, and easy to use. I recommend to anyone who is in the market for a higher performance consumer notebook. Here are some photos.

The Presidential Inaguration Speech I wanted to hear.

January 21, 2009

Hello America,

On this glorious day, we hand power down from one president to the next. A tradition filled with honor. Our Economy needs fixing, and it’s not going to happen overnight. But it will happen America. There is going to be some changes over the next four years. So we will hopefully emerge from this crisis as a much stronger nation both by means of the economy, and in our number of allies. And America; anything is possible.

Thank You

What do you have to change about yourself before you can change the world?

January 21, 2009

I would probably have to be a little less self centered and start thinking about other people. Then I could think of something nobody has done before, but something practical and try my best to do it. But it has to benefit other people; not just me.

Beta Testing Windows 7

January 18, 2009

I recently downloaded Windows 7 beta and installed it in Virtual PC. The setup took about 45 minutes, which is pretty good for such a huge OS. So far it seems to be a lot like Vista, but without the clutter and instability, and this is just the beta (build 7000 to be exact). I also think the new bootscreen looks better than vista’s green progress bar thing.

The logon screen looks similar to that of Vista’s. It’s a blue aurora over the old green one (Vista has a lot of green in it).

The desktop has a cleaner, less cluttered look and feel. Aerosnap is a pretty useful tool that snaps your windows to certain areas of the screen such as the top for fullscreen or the left or right side of the screen for that half to be used.

I have yet to try the other features of Windows 7, but so far it looks pretty good. If you want to learn more or download the beta, go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/.

What is the most powerful thing you can say to someone?

January 15, 2009

It is your opinion and honesty. If you are honest, people will trust you and do their best for you, even if being honest means being negative. However, if you are dishonest in your opinion, that can shatter peoples ideas if they find out.

Deep Thought

January 15, 2009

Mac vs Pc is a big fight between 2 groups of computer users. Those who use Mac Machinces, and those who use Windows. PC stands for “Personal Computer”. But when you think about it, isn’t the mac actually a PC? Now that I think of it, what isn’t a PC?
